Reporting to the Sr. Director of Human Resources, we are currently looking for an experienced HR Specialist to join our Human Resources team.
This position will be the primary HR partner supporting our afternoon shift team providing ongoing employee relations support to Plant Department Managers and Supervisors as well as acts as a resource to employees. This role partners with operations to recruit, develop and optimze resources to drive business goals and is responsible for assisting with the development of initiatives and coordination, implementation, administration and maintenance of Human Resources programs.
Hours of Work – 11am – 7:30pm (some flexibility to negotiate these times)
•Provide day to day support and counseling to managers and employees on recruitment, training and development, compensation and benefits, legislative and policy compliance, performance management and termination and severance.
•Manage and participate in the recruitment and selection process for required positions
•Assist in the development of strategies and execute on-boarding and orientation of new employees
•WSIB Claims Management including completion of Form 7s and following up with supervisors, employees and other external service providers to support Early and Safe Return to Work
•Coach and advise supervisors on the handling of disability claims, accommodation issues and support Health and Safety initiatives
•Attendance policy management
•Administration of pension and benefits policies
•Promote positive employee relations through superior customer service, communication and execution of employee programs.
•Assist in the development, implementation, coordination and delivery of training programs
•Implement Human Resources policies, programs and strategies consist with organizational mission and philosophy
•Provide regular reports to update business on programs and initiatives
•Assist in the development and execution of special projects
Minimum of 3 yrs of HR Generalist experience
•Post secondary education in a related discipline
•Experience in food processing/manufacturing environment an asset
•Client service focused with the ability to prioritize needs and communicate well with team
•Knowledgeable in employment and health and safety legislation
•Able to work independently in a fast paced envirnment
•Excellent investigation skills and sound judgment is required
•Demonstrated ability to build solid business relationships
